Summer Programmes Worldwide 2019

Make friends, enhance your CV, and learn about another culture during the summer. Choose between cultural programmes taught in English, or language classes in Japanese, Korean, and Mandarin. Competitive scholarships of up to £500 are available for undergraduate campus-based applicants. Undergraduate students (excluding final year) may apply for Summer Programmes. Summer Programmes in Europe 2019

Gain cultural experience, improve your language skills and enhance your CV by spending time at a University over the summer in Europe. Please view the European Summer School webpage for more information about where you can go and what is being offered across our partner universities in Europe.

Students participating in Erasmus+ (study or work) with partner universities in the EU in the upcoming academic year may also be eligible to apply for a scholarship to support an intensive language course during the summer before their placement begins. Please contact for more information.

Travel Bursaries for Summer Schools

The New Horizons Award Scheme, introduced in 2018, has been established to provide travel bursaries for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, to enable them to access overseas experience that may not otherwise be available to them. Please see here for details.

Generation UK and Study China Internship Programmes

Gain valuable work experience in mainland China over your summer break to enhance your CV and business network whilst discovering the traditions of Chinese culture. Work experience placements are available in a wide range of industries across six cities and is arranged by two British Council appointed suppliers: CRCC Asia and Intern China. Generation UK China provides funding support for two month placements for UK students to gain work experience in mainland China. Please view the Work Experience China webpage for further details.
