Transit (UK) Application Form
Transits with total goods of less than £5,000 value are covered automatically and free of charge and do not require notification 



Goods in Transit Insurance should be arranged when equipment is being transported within the British Isles or used away from the University (within the UK) on a temporary basis.

Cover is provided automatically for consignments with a value up to £5,000.

Premiums are calculated as a percentage of the value of the consignment and dependent upon the duration of the trip. They are recharged to the department retrospectively.

(This cover does not extend to individual laptops and separate cover should be arranged).

The policy excess is £250 in respect of each and every loss.

In respect of property in transit the following conditions must be adhered to:-

Locking & Garaging Warranty
It is warranted that in respect of vehicles owned by you or under your control that whenever any vehicle is left loaded and unattended all doors and the boot shall be locked and windows and other openings securely closed. Also when any vehicle containing the property is left unattended between the hours of 9.00 p.m. and 6.00 a.m. it shall be kept in a securely locked building of substantial construction or in a public garage with an authorised attendant on duty at all times.

Property Locking Warranty
Warranted that when unattended and not in use all property is locked away in a secure place.
