Freedom of Information - What we do

The University is fully committed to compliance with the legislation and the underlying principle of transparency. In support of this objective, Information Assurance Services has responsibility for the maintenance and development of the University’s Code of Practice for Freedom of Information.

Information Assurance Services offers the following services: 

  • Develop and maintain polices designed to ensure compliance with the freedom of Information legislation.
  • Implement policy and required procedures for compliance.
  • Provide advice and guidance to all areas of the University.
  • Process requests for information made under the Freedom of Information Act.
  • Manage complaints procedures.
  • Co-ordinate maintenance of the University’s Publication Scheme.
  • Manage relations with the Information Commissioner’s Office and other external bodies.
  • Promote awareness of freedom of information compliance matters and the provision of training where necessary.
