Atypical Workers Project

Atypical workers are those with non-standard working arrangements who are engaged on a casual, ad-hoc, infrequent or temporary basis and where a fixed-term or open-ended contract of employment would not be appropriate.

The University is undertaking a project to review its atypical workers in a series of phases, known as the Atypical Workers Project.  It is now in phase 2, which will deal with assimilation and harmonisation to achieve equal pay for non-standard workers engaged via Unitemps.

Phase 2 follows on from phase 1, which related to the closure of the Fees Payroll.

Monthly updates outlining progress on phase 2 of the Atypical Workers Project are circulated to key stakeholders, and are available for interested colleagues to read.

Adobe Acrobat (PDF) Guidance notes to support the data collection survey for phase 2 of the Atypical Workers Project (343 KB) are available (log in required).
