What to send to the Press Office

Please provide a short synopsis or description of your research/event, concentrating particularly on aspects that members of the public would be interested in.

As we would hope to get local press and radio coverage in advance of the event, please supply this information to the Press Office (pressoffice@le.ac.uk) as soon as possible.

Press Releases are generally no longer than approx 350 words, so please do not send too much text, simply a few choice paragraphs that highlight the main issues.

Examples of points that could be highlighted:

  •  any advances in the area(s) to be discussed
  •  are you describing work that is innovative/cutting edge
  •  benefits or potential benefits to the public of any research
  •  topicality of the subject matter
  •  Leicester's contribution to the subject matter
  • Anything unusual/anecdotal that you could highlight relating to the subject matter

Be sure to include a telephone number for media enquiries in your response.

Please send your information via email to pressoffice@le.ac.uk - the final draft will be cleared with you before being sent to the media.
