Brochures

Departmental brochures are critical to the University’s student recruitment activity. Where possible, we send departmental brochures to all enquirers who request a Prospectus.

As well as providing more detailed course information, brochures allow you to go beyond the limitations of the prospectus, provide detailed reasons why studying at Leicester would be a good thing and create a personal feel to the department.

Brochures could include information about:

  • Departmental achievements
  • Research strengths or projects
  • Facilities
  • Case studies on opportunities for overseas/ industry placements
  • Careers profiles
  • Academic societies and departmental social life
  • Links to your websites or blogs

We can provide guidelines and assistance in creating content, writing effective copy and use of imagery.

Copywriting

Good copy can make all the difference to your poster, brochure or advert. Good copy should consider the audience, have purpose, be concise but also have feeling.

University style conventions or 'house style' can help to make publications look professional by maintaining a consistent approach to spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Visual identity

It is important that all University of Leicester publications follow our style guidelines so that people can clearly distinguish and identify all our promotional materials. Design Services are responsible for overseeing the University's visual identity.
