Consulting Suites with "Smartitions"

An University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust funded refurbishment project to at the University of Leicester’s Robert Kilpatrick Clinical Sciences Building, transforming the ground floor and part of the first floor of the building into practical examination and teaching space for the University of Leicester’s Department of Medical Education  was completed on 26 January 2016.  The project has been shortlisted  for the following East Midlands Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Awards:

Best Change of Use of an Existing Building

Best Educational Buildng

Best Inclusive Building

The Estates project manager was Jon Clements of our Development Team and the works were carried out by Stepnell.  The project included ‘smartitions’ which are a unique bespoke system designed by Moss Architecture and manufactured by Hufcor.  The movable smartitions are designed specifically to minimise sound transfer in the "mock" consulting rooms which are used for practical exams.

The award winners will be announced at the East Midlands LABC Awards Ceremony on Friday 9 June 2017
