Brookfield Staff purchased Unity Bands for a minimum donation of £2 to raise more than £260 for Cancer Research UK World Cancer Day

Pete Bale, Senior Project Manager with the Estates Development Team took the lead in organising a collection at Brookfield for  the Cancer Research UK World Cancer Day.  Pete arranged for boxes of the colourful charity supplied Unity Bands to be sold at Brookfield Mallard House and Brookfield Postgraduate Teaching Centre (PGTC).  The campaign raised £262.68, much more than the minimum donation of £2 per band.

The picture shows Pete with Maria de Blasio-Charlesworth, who sold the bands and collected the money at the PGTC and Tara Tate who did the same at Mallard, each sporting a different colour Unity Band.  The World Cancer Day campaign had more than 1million participants worldwide.
