Oadby Student Facilities

Student study areas at Manorcroft and Stamford House Village Hub, pub, cinema and shop

TheVillageHub.gifEarlier this year the Estates Division managed a project to refurbish two beautiful old properties in Oadby, Manorcroft and Stamford House to create some funky and fabulous facilities for students.  The aim was to make an exciting modern student space whilst preserving the original building features to retain the character and style of the original buildings.

Stamford House - Village Hub

Just one of the bookable study rooms

The beautiful Stamford House is a 1907 building with many original features including some fabulous fireplaces, ceilings and wall paneling.  The house has been refurbished to create a complete facility for students with a downstairs bar, social rooms, surround-sound cinema and shop.  Upstairs there are several bookable study rooms varying in size, some with projection equipment and the smaller ones with flat screen TV.  There are two music rooms one with an electric drum kit, the other with a full drum kit and electric guitar.

Manorcroft IT Suite
The ground floor at Manorcroft, built in 1928, now contains a fully equipped IT suite and a large study/reading room with comfortable chairs.  Both rooms are swipe card access for dedicated student use, in addition they have fabulous views across the lawns of the substantial gardens.
