Almost a year after launch, the University Bike Park has proven to be a roaring success.
University Bike Park – one year on

The Bike Park is busy even on the coldest of days

Despite last year’s wet summer and the extended winter, more University staff and students than ever have been braving the elements and cycling to Campus. 11% of staff now commute by bicycle (3% increase from last year), which is coupled with the 7% reduction in those driving to work.
The Bike Park is responsible for many of the new cyclists (as well as Sir Wiggins and the Olympic team); we’ve had almost 700 registrations since it launched and the Park is very well used by happy commuters who prefer to return to a safe, dry bike at the end of the day.
There are still spaces available so as spring approaches there’s never been a better time to try pedalling to work. Read our top ten reasons you should get on your bike this spring and register to use the Bike Park.
