Finalist in four Green Gown Award Cateogories!

We are delighted be a finalist in 4 categories in Green Gown Awards 2018 - Tomorrow's Employees, Campus of the Future, Student Research with Impact and Student Sustainability Champion!!

The University of Leicester has been named finalists in four categories in the 2018 Green Gown Awards, administrated by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges (EAUC) !

This is a great testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of our staff and students regarding sustainability at the University!

Established in 2004, the Green Gown Awards recognise the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges. With sustainability moving up the agenda, the Awards have become established as the most prestigious recognition of best practice within the further and higher education sector.


The University is finalist in the following four categories:

Tomorrow's Employees: Leaders of the Future; Think Beyond the Headlines

For our whole institution approach towards producing globally responsible graduates that leave university with the skills and knowledge to question and tackle the worlds issues.

Campus of the Future: Leicester For Life

In recognition of our vision for the University of Leicester to be a 21st century campus in every sense- a campus that will include Interesting, Immersive and Interactive Sites (IIIS)

Research With Impact (student): Hannah Sellers

To celebrate Hannah Sellers' undergraduate dissertation showcasing a Living Labs approach towards improving the biodiversity on campus.

Sustainability Champion (student): Ross Perrett

To celebrate student Ross Perrett's implementation of a forest garden on the FJB lawn.
