Join us to raise money for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust by making and selling delicious cakes

Staff are invited to join the Environment Team in celebrating another successful year by taking part in the Fruit and Veg Cake-off on Wednesday June 8th!

While student volunteers enjoy the Brookfield Sustainability Festival, staff will be invited to buy and sell cakes in the Postgraduate Teaching Centre (PGTC). What better excuse is there to treat yourself when all money raised goes straight to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust? Last year we raised £126 for the Leicestershire Wildlife Hospital through our raffle - let's try and beat that!

Here's the interesting bit, your sweet or savoury cake must contain:

  • 1 fruit or vegetable main ingredient
  • At least 1 Fairtrade or ethically sourced product

Now is a great time to try something new, so why not surprise yourself and everyone else by veggin' out?

You can enter your cake into our adjudicated competition held at Brookfield, but you don't have to be there to take part. Why not get your office or building involved and sell tasty items there instead? Everyone involved gets a free tea towel designed by our team with lots of great tips on sustainable living.

  • Email us if you or your office/building is taking part
  • Come to Brookfield PGTC for the Cake-off judging and sale for 12pm or just sell them where you're based if more convenient
