It's time to go green for Go Green Week!
From 9th-13th February, the University of Leicester will be holding its own take on People and Planet’s annual Go Green Week to be held on Main Campus.
This is a popular, nationwide event amongst many other schools and universities, where we put on a week of fun and educational events to raise awareness of global, environmental issues. The aim is to demonstrate how easy it can really be to live sustainably, but it also showcases our University at its best! A huge collaborative effort goes into Go Green Week every year and for 2015, staff are supporting students doing the Leicester Award to deliver one day during the week on their own chosen theme and activities.
The schedule that has been created is as follows:
- Meat-Free Monday
- Travel Tuesday
- Waste-Not Wednesday
- Switch-Off Thursday
- Make an Impact Friday
Everyone will be invited to make a pledge to change something about their normal routine in order to be more sustainable. Whether it is turning the tap off while brushing your teeth, buying more seasonal produce or leaving your car at home for the day, small changes DO make a big difference!
