Oxford University Press - online access to journals

Online access to English, Year’s Work in English Studies and Year’s Work in Cultural and Critical Theory is provided by Oxford University Press (OUP).

Before you set up online access

The following details are needed before you set up online access:

  • Subscriber number: This is usually an 8- or 12-digit number. If you can't remember or don’t know your subscriber number, please complete OUP’s online request form - when prompted to select a journal, please select English: Journal of the English Association. If your number has fewer than eight digits, prefix it with up to four zeros, as required. If you have more than one subscriber number, you can activate each one individually or activate them under a single account.
  • Contact details: A contact name, address, and valid email address are required. If your organisation is the member of The English Association (EA), and not you as an individual, we advise that the email address be a shared address so that staff changes don’t impact on the management of your account (e.g. "library@institute.edu"). You will also need to choose a password.

Set up online access

Using your information detailed above, register for an Oxford Academic account, then log in and follow the online prompts.

Select "Activate Subscriptions and Trials" and input your subscriber number. The entire list of journals associated with the subscriber number will appear. You do not need to reactivate online access when you renew your subscription.

Problems accessing your online account?

As online access to these journals is supported by OUP, if you’re experiencing issues with online access, please contact OUP and they will be able to help.

If you have questions generally about your membership of the EA, please contact the EA Team at engassoc@leicester.ac.uk.
