Vacancy for Editor - The Use of English

Posted by hl11 at Mar 27, 2018 09:43 AM |

The Association is keen to appoint a new editor for its long-established and well-regarded journal, The Use of English. Aiming to support the teaching of English at secondary level, the journal is a thrice-yearly publication containing articles on subject content and pedagogy. A reviews section provides details of latest publications in the field of secondary English.

As editor, you will be responsible for the commissioning and selection of articles and reviews and you will work with the support of the Association’s Secondary Education Committee. The role is an excellent opportunity for someone currently, or recently, working in secondary English, either in a school, a college or a university teacher training department. The Association would also consider splitting the role between an editor and a reviews editor.

The role carries with it a modest honorarium, but the main reward, of course, comes from playing a significant role in the national debate surrounding the teaching and learning of English.
