We're pleased to be competition partners for the My Twist on a Tale writing competition – a national competition from world’s leading learning company, Pearson, which encourages 4-16 year-olds to tear up the rule book and create their own 21st Century take on classic fairy tales, fables and regional folk stories.

The competition aims to empower children and young people, from key stage one to key stage four, to write their own stories, celebrating a diverse and modern day Britain. Whether it’s Cinderella meeting her not-so-evil stepmother, magical Shorter smartphones or classroom kingdoms, children and young people across the country are being given the opportunity to get creative and put a personal twist on the tales by reflecting their own personality, location, heritage, interests and experiences. They can even create a fable or fairy tale of their very own.We are very excited to announce that we’re supporting the My Twist on a Tale writing competition – a national competition from world’s leading learning company, Pearson, which encourages 4-16 year-olds to tear up the rule book and create their own 21st Century take on classic fairy tales, fables and regional folk stories.

The competition aims to empower children and young people, from key stage one to key stage four, to write their own stories, celebrating a diverse and modern day Britain. They can even create a fable or fairy tale of their very own.

Why? Diversity, inclusion and relatability matter. They matter in the literature we consume and the books, poetry and plays we put in front of our children. From early stages to adulthood - people should feel represented in the literature they read and the stories they write. The free competition: My Twist on a Tale, gives children and young people the opportunity to become the protagonist of their own story and assert their modern-day stamp on a classic tale.Registration is open now! Entries can be submitted from 09:00 on Sunday 8th September 2019 (International Literacy Day) until 17:00 on Friday 29th  November 2019.
