What is the difference between Leicester Discovery International Summer Programme and Leicester International Summer School?

The Leicester International Summer School requires a higher English level and contains more academic content. It is most suitable for those who wish to develop an established interest in the humanities, in areas such as British literature and history, for instance.

The Leicester Discovery International Summer Programme aims to offer a general introduction to British life and culture. Although there are clear academic themes within course, there is more of focus on activities outside the classroom than with Leicester International Summer School.

You can download a draft timetable here. Please note that this draft may be subject to changes.

The course is provided by the University's English Language Teaching Unit, which has many years of experience delivering short courses for international students.

Here is what some previous students have said about the course:
LISS - 1Listening to other's presentation and explaining my poster was a really good opportunity to improve my English. I enjoyed it very much. Leicester is a very historical city, so I loved the atmosphere. I enjoyed the plays of Shakespeare the most.
LISS - 3The poster presentation was one of the best things. Because of the programme, now I know a lot of things about this beautiful city. The thing I enjoyed most was to talk with native speakers. The programme was bigger than my expectations. The teachers were great and the organisation, too. Thank you!
