This page describes the University of Leicester Assessment of English (ULAE) markscheme currently used to assess students at the end of the Presessional Programme.

Students who complete the Presessional Programme modules D or E receive a ULAE score. This can be used to meet the language condition of a University of Leicester offer, as well as the UKVI requirement for a tier 4 visa at the University of Leicester.

ULAE comprises a band score for each skill (Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing) and an overall band score.
