English Language Programme

The ELTU's accredited English Language Programme gives you the opportunity to study in a UK University environment. This programme is suitable for students who do not yet qualify for a Tier 4 Visa.
  • Presessional CoursesEntry requirements shown below are IELTS. If you have a different qualification, check our entry levels page.

  • Requires Student Visitor Visa, Dependent Visa, or EU passport.
  • The minimum age for enrolment on all programmes is 18.
  • 21 hours per week full-time intensive study.
  • Maximum 16 students in a class.
  • All study materials are included in the tuition fee.
  • Fees should be paid in full before the start of the course: information about fees payment and refunds

Holidays and closure dates

Fees Payment

Course fees should be paid in full before the start of the course. Payment can be made by any of the following methods:

  • Online by Credit or Debit Card (MasterCard, Visa, Maestro and Delta)
  • Electronic Bank Transfer
  • Cheque / Banker's Draft

Refund

English Language Programme students are required to pay a non-refundable deposit to secure their place on the English Language course as set out in the relevant programme specification. If a student withdraws within 14 days of date the University received the non-refundable deposit to secure their place on the English Language Programme the deposit paid will be returned in full. Otherwise it will not be refundable. Please click here for full details of the refund policy.

If you start your course and then decide to leave before completing it, you may be entitled to a full or partial refund depending on the date of your withdrawal:

  • If a student withdraws within 14 days of the course start date the fee liability is Nil (there will be a full refund);
  • The fee liability is determined by the course tuition fee based on the number of weeks in attendance as a proportion of the number of weeks specified in the normal period of registration as set out in the relevant programme specification;

A partially completed week is treated as a full week for the fee liability calculation.
