If you are in urgent need of support, or needing support whilst waiting for an appointment with the Counselling and Wellbeing service, you can contact the following:


Contact your own GP, or if you are registered with the Victoria Park Health Centre contact them on 0116 2151105.


Provides 24-hour medical advice and information by calling 111, or on line http://www.nhs.uk/Pages/HomePage.aspx

Urgent Care Centre, Walk-in Centres and Minor Injuries Units

These offer a range of treatment for minor illnesses and injuries including, lacerations, stomach upsets, burns and strains. You will be seen by an experienced nurse, without an appointment. X-ray is available at some locations.

A 24 hour anonymous telephone counselling line, or you can see someone in person between 9.30am and 9.30pm. You can talk to them about any issue troubling you.

A confidential and anonymous telephone listening, support and information service. It is run by students, providing emotional support to students in distress. Phones are manned throughout the night during term time.


A confidential space for you to get support with mental health.  Mondays and Wednesdays 11am - 1pm  (term time only).  Drop in or email advice@le.ac.uk to book and appointment. Located in the Advice Service, first floor of the Students' Union (Percy Gee building).

Let's Talk Wellbeing (formerly Open Mind)

Provides psychological assessment & treatment for mild to moderate common mental health difficulties.  It provides community support and access to resource programmes.
