In ​light of the COVID-19 situation, regrettably we have had to suspend all face to face appointments, groups and workshops until further notice. We are however continuing to support students remotely via Microsoft Teams.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

Appointments and the contents of sessions at the Counselling and Wellbeing Service are kept confidential. In line with professional requirements and good practice, the Counsellors and Mental Health Facilitators will discuss sessions with other counsellors, supervisors and professional colleagues within the Service.

In exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to break confidentiality. These are only where there appears to be a serious and imminent risk to your own or others safety, or if we are made aware of serious illegal activities.

Your details and individual records are held on a secure server on Target Connect and only accessible by members of the Student Counselling and Wellbeing team and select Target Connect employees.  We hold our records for 6 years after which they will be deleted.  We utilise anonymised data and evaluation feedback for the preparation of reports, service evaluation and university marketing communications.
