Tips on spelling and grammar

When completing an application for a work experience, graduate job, or further study it is important that your spelling and grammar are perfect. Mistakes made on an application can make your work seem less professional. Luckily there is support available to ensure that the content of your application is as effective as possible.

Where can I go for support?

Top Tips

  • Make sure that you check over and proofread every part of your application before you submit it.
  • To stand out when highlighting your skills and experiences to employers, make sure that you use powerful, persuasive language! For example, instead of writing ‘I had to lead a team…’ you could write ‘I successfully and confidently led a team…’
