Your personal development programme

Leicester Award Logo

The Leicester Award is a personal development programme available to all University of Leicester students. The programme helps you to identify, develop, reflect upon and articulate your self-awareness and transferable skills from your academic studies and experiences beyond your degree – developing your CV and making you more employable.

How do I complete the Leicester Award?

If you are a first year undergraduate, you will complete the Leicester Award automatically as part of your course. If for any reason you have missed your Leicester Award deadline, please email leicesteraward@le.ac.uk expressing an interest in achieving the award. The Leicester Award team will then respond with details of how you can still achieve the award this semester.

Not a first year undergraduate? You will be able to complete the programme online via Blackboard.

  • Undergraduates in their second, penultimate or final year have been automatically enrolled onto the 'Leicester Award for Undergraduates 2018/19' on Blackboard.
  • Postgraduate Taught students have automatically enrolled onto the 'Leicester Award for Postgraduates 2018/19' on Blackboard.

It helps your CV and also allows for you to analyse yourself and see your strengths and weaknesses.
Psychology student
Taking time to reflect on activities and experience is not something I naturally spend time doing, so being directed to take time to do so is very powerful and revealing.
Human Resource Management and Training student
I believe that participating in the Leicester Award has enabled me to reflect upon my education, experiences and learning which is something I would not have done otherwise.
