The Leicester Award

What is it?Leicester Award Logo

The Leicester Award is a personal development programme, the first step towards your career development. It enables you to reflect on and articulate your motivations, strengths and previous experience.

How will I complete this?

All first year students will have the opportunity to complete the Award as part of your programme. The award will be assessed and will count towards your overall mark for the module.

Benefits of completing the Award

  • Greater understanding of your personal motivations and skills in line with your future career or academic goals.
  • Opportunity to gain some transferable skills through a relevant experience within your module.
  • Once you have achieved the Leicester Award, you will complete the Leicester Award Gold programme, the next stage in your career development. This programme is designed to support you in achieving professional experience and skills, while developing your knowledge of the application process.

What if I’m not in my first year?

First year undergraduate students starting in 2019/20 will complete the Leicester Award through a first year core module. Any other students, including postgraduate students who haven’t completed the Leicester Award yet, can complete the Award through our extra-curricular module on Blackboard.

The final deadline for 2019/20 academic year has now passed but there will be further chances to complete the Award next year. If you have any questions in the meantime please get in touch:
