Appointments

Our expert careers advisors are here to support you to achieve success in whatever you are applying for, whether it is a part-time job, internship, graduate scheme, or further study course.

Our 1-2-1 appointments

  • Application coaching (25 minutes) is useful for CVs, cover letters, applications, personal statements and LinkedIn.
  • Career coaching (25 minutes) is for exploring what you want to do after university, assessing what career paths are open to you, how to gain relevant experience, or discussing whether starting a business is right for you. We can also support you with upcoming interviews, assessment centres and psychometric tests.
  • Mock interviews/assessments (50 minutes) are appointments for practising an upcoming interview, presentation or role play you might have as part of a recruitment process. We also offer video interview practice with a software called Launchpad, which is used by graduate employers.
  • PhD careers guidance (20 minutes) is for both current PhD students exploring what to do professionally after completing their PhD, or for students interested in beginning a PhD and who are seeking help with their application.
  • Career appointments for disabled students (25 minutes) are individual appointments run at the AccessAbility Centre for students who consider themselves to have a disability and would like advice on any stage of the recruitment process.

Virtual Support
Currently we are conducting all of our appointments virtually via Skype and telephone. When you book an appointment, just let us know the best way to contact you.

What do we expect from you?

To ensure you get the most out of this support and to provide a fair service for all of our students, we have a few expectations of you. This includes completing preparation before you attend an appointment (this will be emailed to you after you’ve made a booking), informing us if you’re running late and cancelling with at least 24 hours notice if you can no longer attend. The full details about this can be found here.
