How do I get in touch?

Can I speak to anyone about my son/daughter’s application?

Due to data protection, we cannot directly discuss your son/daughter’s application without their written permission. We can however answer many general queries about our accommodation and services.

We can discuss their application with you if they send written permission to from the email address they used to register with the university. This must contain their full name, student ID, and your full name and relationship to them.

I haven’t heard from my son/daughter in a while, can you help?

Yes. Our Residence Life team can complete a visit to your son/daughter to see how they're getting on and ask them to contact you.

Please be aware that, for data protection reasons, we cannot discuss the outcome of this visit with you unless your son/daughter is under 18 and you are their registered contact. We take student welfare very seriously and can assure you that if your son/daughter requires any help and support, we will provide this or direct them to services that can. What can I do if I’m concerned?

If you have any concerns regarding your son/daughter’s stay in our accommodation, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Accommodation Team. Whilst we can’t discuss the exact details concerning your son/daughter due to data protection, we are able to provide you with general details of our services and procedures and will hopefully answer any concerns you have to the best of our ability.

Can I visit my son/daughter in their accommodation?

You are welcome to visit your son/daughter whenever they wish. In The Village, you can park in the visitors car park next to John Foster Reception. If you're staying in The City there is no on-site parking available. Please be aware that for fire safety reasons, a maximum of 2 people can stay in a single room overnight. Overnight stays are limited to 48 hours within a seven-day period, or 2 such consecutive periods over a Saturday and Sunday.
