Frequently Asked Questions

Before you get in touch, take a look at our FAQs below to see if we've already answered your question.

How do I get in touch?

You can contact our team 24 hours a day at John Foster Reception (The Village) on +44 (0)116 223 1493, or Nixon Court Reception (The City) on +44 (0)116 223 1485.

You can also email our team at accommodation@le.ac.uk for less urgent enquiries.

Can I speak to anyone about my son/daughter’s application?

Due to data protection, we cannot directly discuss your son/daughter’s application without their written permission. We can however answer many general queries about our accommodation and services.

We can discuss their application with you if they send written permission to accommodation@le.ac.uk from the email address they used to register with the university. This must contain their full name, student ID, and your full name and relationship to them.

I haven’t heard from my son/daughter in a while, can you help?

Yes. Our Residence Life team can complete a visit to your son/daughter to see how they're getting on and ask them to contact you.

Please be aware that, for data protection reasons, we cannot discuss the outcome of this visit with you unless your son/daughter is under 18 and you are their registered contact. We take student welfare very seriously and can assure you that if your son/daughter requires any help and support, we will provide this or direct them to services that can. You can learn more about our support services here.

Remember, you can contact us 24/7 365 days a year on +44 (0)116 252 2428.

What can I do if I’m concerned?

If you have any concerns regarding your son/daughter’s stay in our accommodation, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the Accommodation Team. Whilst we can’t discuss the exact details concerning your son/daughter due to data protection, we are able to provide you with general details of our services and procedures and will hopefully answer any concerns you have to the best of our ability.

Can I visit my son/daughter in their accommodation?

You are welcome to visit your son/daughter whenever they wish. In The Village, you can park in the visitors car park next to John Foster Reception. If you're staying in The City there is no on-site parking available. Please be aware that for fire safety reasons, a maximum of 2 people can stay in a single room overnight. Overnight stays are limited to 48 hours within a seven-day period, or 2 such consecutive periods over a Saturday and Sunday.
