Academic versus Societies, Clubs & Activities

Remember, your lecturers and the ‘university system’ assume that you will prioritise your academic work over your interests.

So, if, for example, you are a good sports person or singer /musician then it can be difficult to do everything that you want to do.

Studying, training, competitions and concerts all take up a lot of time.

In the end the choice is yours, but your academic work and deadlines should come first.

The university sports and other clubs usually recognise this and avoid planning meetings or events in the revision and examination season.
