Tricks of the Trade - Library

As soon as you get a reading list use the on-line library booking system to reserve recommended books.  If the book you need is already on loan to someone else, reserve it (also called ‘putting it on hold’).

Reserving a book means that it must be returned by the person who has it as soon as the hand in date arrives.

Getting books out of the library before a holiday often means you can keep it till the next term.

The short loan library is good too.  You can have materials for a 4 hour period, and after a certain time of day, you get to keep them over night till 9 or 10 a.m.  the next morning.

If you get a short loan book out last thing on a Friday / Saturday you can keep it till Monday morning.

IF you cannot get a certain book, the shelf where is should be will have others on the same topic.  These books could be just as useful as the one you wanted.
