Hand in dates and times

Hand in dates and times

Hand in dates and times are very strict at University.

You have to be really ill and have a doctor’s note, or experience some significantly upsetting emergency, again with a letter of evidence, to avoid losing marks if you are handing work in late without warning.

Often, as soon as the deadline has passed your mark is reduced at regular intervals as time goes along.

If you have problems getting all your work done on time, if some of it is very hard, or if you are struggling to do a number of different pieces of work with the same hand in date, YOU MUST LET STAFF KNOW; email your tutor and ask your Study Adviser or the AAC for help.  Do this before the work is due in, the staff will give you advice and help.  It is expected that in your first year you will start to learn how to organise yourself and your work to meet deadlines.

IF this is a long term problem that is not getting better you must tell the Study Adviser at the AccessAbility Centre and the department AccessAbility Tutor!

Remember, if there is an acceptable reason (Mitigating Circumstances) for your work being late, as long as you tell people and can get the evidence, the marks deducted can in effect be re-instated later in the year by the examination board.
