Open Research: Managing Research Profiles

Open Research is a set of principles and practices whose aim is to make the outputs of research freely accessible and usable, thereby to maximise the possibility of public benefit. Being aware of Persistent identifiers (PIDs) and managing your research profile can have numerous benefits for you as a researcher, your institution and funders: disambiguate publication attribution, make individual achievement more visible; tracking the impact of your research outputs; meeting the requirements of funders and publishers. In an evolving Open research environment, PIDs play an important part in creating reliable links between people, places and things.
