The first of a series of University of Leicester ConnectMe events - Women's Hour: Women and Health - focuses on physical and mental health in the workplace. Taking place over lunch, this event includes a talk with expert panellists, an opportunity to network with speakers and other attendees, and participate in an introductory yoga session. Agenda 1pm: Welcome and Introductions 1.10 - 1.30pm: Panel Discussion, chaired by Jayne Marshall Foundation Professor of Midwifery, University of Leicester, followed by Questions and Answers. Panellists include: Lisa James, The Little Cooks Club and winner of a Leicester Women in Business Award in 2018; Marie Nugent, Public Engagement Manager, College of Life Sciences, University of Leicester; and Cathy Howells, Occupational Health Manager, University of Leicester. 1.30 - 1.45pm: A relaxing and calming short introductory yoga session that can be completed in comfortable work clothing. Includes: gentle breathing exercises; key yoga poses; and meditation. This is designed for all levels from beginners and beyond. 1.45 - 2pm: Networking and Marketplace Open to all staff and all genders across the University of Leicester with an interest in connecting women. Women's Hour aims to increase opportunities for personal development, networking and bringing people together; to share experiences, knowledge and raise awareness of support available; and to improve female-focused networks at the University and beyond. Free event with refreshments, but places are limited, so register to secure your place. Women's Hour is part of a series of ConnectMe events, each with a different theme, that have emerged from the ‘Women Leading with Purpose’ Leadership course at the University of Leicester. These events are an opportunity to learn about topics relevant to women, meet with those from other parts of University and make new connections.
