While we all aspire to balancing work with priorities and interests outside of work, in practice we do make sacrifices, tipping the scale in one direction or the other. This can be true for many careers, but the field of science has certain unique challenges. This debate aims to initiate an honest conversation about work-life balance that will help us to understand the challenges faced by those who work in a scientific field, and explore how we can make it easier for everyone to improve this balance.

Followed by refreshments in the foyer. Everyone is welcome.

Chaired by Professor Paul Monks
