Martins Paparinskis is a Reader in Public International Law at the University College London. A graduate of the University of Latvia and the University of Oxford, Martins is a member of a number of boards and committees, among which the International Law Association’s Committee on the Rule of Law and International Investment Law and the panel of arbitrators of the ICSID and the Permanent Court of Arbitration. He has published extensively on the law of treaties, State responsibility, and international dispute settlement, as well as international investment law, international trade law, and international human rights law.

He willl be presenting his ongoing research on ‘International Investment Law as a Field of International Law: Special Characteristics’, and his talk will be of interest for all generalist public international lawyers as well as researchers and students of international investment law and dispute settlement.
