Choosing how you want to train to be a teacher is a vital decision and deciding the best route for you can be complex. To help you decide, we're running a monthly event called routes into teaching to help prospective applicants find out more about the PGCE course.

The event is a great opportunity to speak to our partners and university tutors about applying for the PGCE and what you can expect if you are successful in gaining a place on the course.

The event will begin at 4pm with a presentation from our university tutors. The presentation will cover the application process, what makes a strong application and what makes Leicester's teacher training programme unique.

After the presentation, there will be the opportunity to ask the tutors questions before being able to meet with representatives from our School Direct and SCITT partners. We recommend you take your time to speak to as many partners as possible to really get to grips with all your options.

We offer the following routes, all of which result in the award of PGCE and recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS):
- PGCE
- School Direct
- School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)
