Join University researchers and students from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the BBC Stargazing Live event to be held this year at Leicester Racecourse on Friday March 20 from 6pm to 9.30pm.

If you have ever wondered…

  • How do we find planets around other stars?
  • What happens to the Earth’s atmosphere during a solar eclipse?
  • How was Beagle 2 found on Mars?
  • How are stars born and how do they die?
  • What do astronauts actually do on the International Space Station?

then come along and find out the answers to these and many other questions.

During the evening you will have a chance to see real meteorites, find out how space hardware is built, gaze at the stars, find out how close science fiction is to reality and question some of the University's top scientists.

Admission is free.
