A public lecture for the Leicester-Loughborough Diet, Lifestyle and Physical Activity Biomedical Research Unit on 16 June, to be given by Professor Gavin Murphy.

Gavin Murphy is an academic cardiac surgeon at the University of Leicester. He graduated in Medicine at the University of Bristol and went on to obtain his MD from the University of Leicester. He trained in Cardiothoracic Surgery in the South West of England and in Lausanne Switzerland, and was appointed as a Walport (HEFCE) Consultant Senior Lecturer in Cardiac Surgery at the University of Bristol in 2007. He was appointed to the British Heart Foundation Chair of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Leicester in 2012. His research interests include diseases affecting the thoracic aorta, blood management, and the prevention of perioperative organ injury.

This lecture will be delivered in: Lecture Theatre U0005, Brockington Building, Loughborough University, LE11 3TU.
