The Graduate School and the Leicester Learning Institute are pleased to present the Doctoral Inaugural Lectures, a series of lectures that celebrate and showcase postgraduate research students who are both outstanding academically and able to present their work in a way that is accessible and engaging to a wider audience.

The next Doctoral Inaugural Lecture is on Wednesday, 17th June 2015, 17:30-18:30 and will take place in Frank and Katherine May Lecture Theatre, Henry Wellcome Building.

This lecture will present the work of two outstanding graduates from the College of Medicine, Biological Sciences, and Psychology :

  • Dr Sally Wilkes (neé Hinchliffe) - Understanding the excess mortality amongst patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms: an application of competing risks methodology
  • Dr Benjamin Wrigley - The role of monocyte subsets in heart failure
