In this Lunchtime Lecture, Dr Kwaku Baryeh, a researcher from the School of Medicine, will talk about osteoporosis, a disease with high prevalence. It affects 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men, over the age of 50, in the UK. Unfortunately, most people are unaware of the disease until they have a bone fracture. The precise mechanisms of the disease are not fully understood at present but research in this area hopefully will change our understanding of osteoporosis.

The Lunchtime Lecture series takes place Fridays, 12-1pm at the Leicester Adult Education College, located at 2 Wellington St, near the city end of New Walk. The lectures are delivered by current University of Leicester postgraduates and are open to the public, so there is no need to book, just come along on the day.
