This is the 31st annual Brixworth Lecture on Anglo-Saxon Studies, sponsored by the Medieval Research Centre. Leslie Brubaker is the leading UK scholar on Byzantine Art, and the theme of her lecture this year coincides with and complements the publication of the long awaited archaeological report on the Anglo-Saxon church at Brixworth, dated now to c. 800 co-authored by David Parsons, emeritus Reader of the Centre for Life-Long Learning.
