The Letterbox Club, Booktrust and Literary Leicester welcome Roger McGough, reading from his new witty and wicked collection of poems for children, An Imaginary Menagerie.

Roger McGough, ‘a trickster you can trust’, is one of Britain’s best-loved poets for both adults and children. Much travelled and translated, his poetry has gained increasing popularity, especially from its widespread use in schools. A prolific writer, he is twice winner of the Signal Award for best children’s poetry book and recipient of the Cholmondeley Award. His latest poetry book is That Awkward Age (Penguin) and, for children, The Imaginary Menagerie (Frances Lincoln) with illustrations by the author.
