Schools OUT is a campaigning and support group for LGBT identified educators from any sector of education. We also welcome anyone interested in diversity education who wants to learn more about tackling homophobia in education. We meet October –June on the second Wednesday of each month to share our experiences and provide support for each other, as well as look for opportunities to share and develop our practice and understanding as educators. We have useful links to teaching and learning resources as well as other support groups on the university website at http://www2.le.ac.uk/departments/education/about-the-department/lgbt-soe and are developing a Facebook group for those who prefer to participate via social media.
Taking place on 8th May at 6-7p.m, No.15 University Rd.
Future meeting dates are: 12th June. The group has been meeting for a year and has members drawn from a range of education settings both beyond and within the university.
