Dr Ben Shapiro is a member of the Fischell Department of Bioengineering, Institute for Systems Research, University of Maryland.

Magnetic nanoparticles offer an exciting way of targeting and delivering drugs to very specific locations such as brain or poorly vascularised tumours. To achieve this is essential that the magnetic fields that control delivery are precisely controlled in time and space. Ben will talk about how these magnetic fields designed and controlled to enable magnetic carriers to get to where they need to go with sub millimetre precision.
