As the new series of The Apprentice begins, Professor Martin Parker (pictured) from the School of Management, shares his thoughts on the popular ‘entertainment’ series and how he sees the show as falsely depicting business as a world where a kind of moral emptiness is a condition of success.

Professor Martin Parker goes on to say that these shows - such as The Apprentice, Dragon’s Den, Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and The Hotel Inspector - portray arrogant bullying and endless self-aggrandisement as what makes you successful in business.
