Poppies to adorn lawn at Entrance 2 on University Road this Remembrance Sunday

As part of the Knit a Poppy Project, join us in commemorating the First World War by knitting or crocheting a poppy to be displayed at the University on Remembrance Sunday.

Everyone is invited to have a go at crafting a poppy at home, in a group or by visiting our Students’ Union for tips on how to create the perfect poppy.

The poppies will sweep across the lawn at Entrance 2 on University Road on Remembrance Sunday (9 November) to honour the soldiers whose lives were lost during the war.

During the war, the University served as a military hospital and was founded as a memorial to the local men that died in the war.
