Deadline for knitted poppies to be placed at University entrance is Thursday 6 November

For the past few weeks we have invited staff, students and members of the public to knit or crochet a poppy to commemorate soldiers lost during the First World War.

On Thursday (6 November) all poppies crafted as part of the University's 'Knit a Poppy Project' will be placed at Entrance 2 on University Road in time for Remembrance Sunday (9 November).

Rupal Rajani will be broadcasting her lunchtime show on BBC Radio Leicester live on campus from 1-3pm on Thursday and talking to a variety of academics and students about the University's history and its part in the First World War.

All poppies need to be received by Thursday 6 NovemberFind out more about how you can contribute to the project here.
