Event to take place from Thursday 27 March to Friday 4 April

Representatives from some of the University’s major research funders will be on campus this month, as part of a nine-day festival of events for academic staff.

The Research Festival welcomes funding organisations to Leicester – bringing with them the very latest information on strategic research priorities and future funding opportunities.

Organised by the University’s Research Support Office, daily sessions include valuable insight from senior managers at the UK research councils – the publicly funded agencies responsible for co-ordinating and funding research.

Research Support Office Director Jan Davies said: “As one of the UK’s premier research-intensive universities, our world-changing research is made possible by more than £50 million in annual grant income, from a wide range of funders.

“The Research Festival gives researchers the chance to hear directly from those organisations. It also features events designed to spread best practice and share knowledge on grant applications and to explore topics shaping the wider research landscape.’’

The full programme of events is designed to support the development of academic staff from all disciplines – medicine, science, arts and the social sciences and runs from Thursday 27 March to Friday 4 April.

As well as RSO-run events, the programme features contributions from the Library, Academic Practice Service and Enterprise and Business Development Office.
