Long-time fans of the Leicester Tigers will have fond memories of the traditional Christmas matches with the invitational Barbarian Football Club, also known as the ‘Baa-Baas’.

Now, staff in our Special Collections Department are working with Soft Touch Arts and Historypin, a collaborative digital history platform, to create a collaborative digital archive about the annual Barbarians games between the Leicester Tigers and Barbarians at Welford Road.

They will be holding an event on Tuesday 18 March for Tigers fans with memories, photos, films and memorabilia of the annual Barbarians game to come along and reminisce with fans, share stories and contribute to the digital archive. It takes place at the Soft Touch Arts Centre, 50 New Walk, Leicester LE1 and you can drop by between 12pm - 2pm, 4pm - 6pm and 6.30pm - 8.30pm.
