Recruitment and skills solutions available to UK-based SMEs

Our Career Development Service is launching a new initiative to help Small to Medium Businesses in the East Midlands take advantage of our wealth of graduate talent.

Following on from a successful networking event in April, they have launched Leicester Graduates – connecting SMEs with talent to provide recruitment solutions to SMEs in the East Midlands.

The new initiative builds on the success of graduate placements with businesses in previous years. The focus is on supporting companies to find the right graduate to fit their business needs and deliver key projects in house, with the flexibility of recruiting recent graduates on an initial fixed term basis (3-12 months) or permanently. Bursaries are available to help employers get started with graduate employment.

In return, our graduates get a great start to their career and the opportunity to bring their knowledge, skills and fresh insights to their own project.

The Career Development Service is offering employers workplace ready graduates from August, expert advice on graduate recruitment and role development, free advertising and promotion of vacancies, support with screening, as well as financial assistance (low risk recruitment).

If you know of any companies that employ between 10-249 employees across the East Midlands or further afield, who have a skills gap or need to recruit new staff, advise them to contact internships@le.ac.uk or 0116 229 7008.

If you are interested in recruiting a recent graduate to take forward key activities in your department, please contact Gosia Juchniewicz on maj28@le.ac.uk or 0116 223 1338.
