Event marks ‘landmark moment’ in Chaplaincy history

The University's Chaplaincy is marking ‘a landmark moment’ in its history with the launch of a new Faith Advisory Team.

The team consists of a man and woman from most of the major faiths represented on campus to provide a complementary team of advisors to work alongside the Chaplaincy’s Christian foundation.

The World Faiths Advisory Group, which is the ‘parent committee’ of the advisors themselves, said the aim of the Faith Advisory Team is to provide information, advice and guidance on faith issues and pastoral concerns.

The Revd Canon Dr Stephen Foster (pictured), Coordinating and Anglican Chaplain to the University, said: “The establishment of the Faith Advisory Team will provide the Chaplaincy with a more inclusive faith provision within a University set in a hugely multicultural, multi-faith city."

The new Faith Advisory Team is being launched at 10am on Tuesday 17 June at The Gatehouse, Chaplaincy to The University of Leicester, University Road, Leicester.
