Arts Centre receives three year investment to continue innovative culture programme

Embrace Arts has been selected by Arts Council England for a further three years of funding from 2015-2018.

The Centre will receive a £150,870 grant, and this vital funding will enable Embrace Arts to continue to develop its innovative programme of performing and visual arts, providing access to arts for all in Leicester.

This is the second time Embrace Arts has received funding from Arts Council England. Previous investment has enabled the Centre to deliver a performance programme supporting emerging artists and talent, bringing great performers to the University and the city.

The funding comes at a time when the Centre is investing in a new galleries wing to create a new visual arts and exhibitions programme. This will be an extension to the current Embrace Arts building and is expected to open in late 2015. The enhanced space will enable the Centre to continue to deliver its creative programme of events and invite even more members of the community to the space.

A public fundraising appeal – The Breaking Barriers Appeal – has been launched to raise funds for the new wing. The new gallery will be a high-quality, purpose built, public space dedicated to the display of contemporary art, in which audiences can enjoy and experience the very best of British and international contemporary art. It will also create further display opportunities for local talent and artists to showcase their work.
